CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION
The Rorschach Ink Blot Test, probably the most widely used pro-
jective technique, is considered by mmt clinicians to be the best method
now available fesr analyzing various personality factors. There are several
methods for administering and scoring the Rorschach test. These are, how-
ever, either very similar in nature or they derive the same general result
while operating in slightly different semantics or directions. Among these
scoring methods, those of Beck (1} and Ilopfer and Kelley (3) are most
commonly used.
The incidence of identical twins affords psychologists a most unusual
opportunity to study different problems without having to face the difficulty
of control subjects. This is particularly beneficial when dealing with
investigations in those areas where matters of environment and heredity
are involved. In no other situation does the psychologist have the advantage
of a genetically similar subject for use as a control subject, tt we assume
that identical twins have the same genetic make-up, then any differences
found between twins must be a result of environmental factors, due to
difference in education or possibly organic factors, sueh as illness.
Another important environmental factor is the affect that twins have on
each other and their reactions to interactions between others with whom
they have contacts.
