Notes

In this piece, particular emphasis was placed on exploration of aural borderlines (for example, between "noise" and pitched sounds, simultaneities and complex timbres). Rich timbres, verging on the borderline of noise, are juxtaposed with highly consonant, almost transparent sonorities. While initially the two sounds seem extremely contrasting, it soon becomes apparent that the consonant sonoities have been extracted from the rich timbres. Structurally, the composition is a modified A B A' form. The "A" sections focus on extended sonorites of rich timbres, while the "B" section emphasizes quick, percussive gestures.
