MAN ON CAMERA
French workers are bask on the job today after a
24-hour general strike, which. was marred by violent
demonstrations. They had sought to force the French
government to grant their demands for major pay
increases to fight a rise in prices. President
Charles De Gaulle charged last night that the strikers
are trying to overthrow his government and that
granting their wage demands would devalue the Franc.
