The Special Collections Department collects and preserves rare and unique materials including rare books, oral histories, university archives, historical manuscripts, maps, microfilm, photographs, art and artifacts. The department is located in UNT's Willis Library in the fourth floor Reading Room.
Video footage from the WBAP-TV station in Fort Worth, Texas to accompany a story by news reporter Lee Elsesser about the reopening of Wiley College in Marshall, Texas. The school administration had closed the college following student demonstrations and boycotts which called for the resignation of school president T. W. Colle, the employment of more African American teachers, and the reinstatement of a football program. This story includes an interview with trustee Reverend W. B. Randolph.
