Staffing
Staffing for this project, in addition to the principal investigator,
who has devoted 10 percent of his academic year time, has consisted of
one full-time technician hired 1 September, 1971, one graduate student
appointed 1 January, 1972, and one part-time laboratory assistant hired
". 1 October, 1971. Dr. Charles Coutant, of the Oak Ridge National Labora-
- story , also advised the Center for Great Lakes Studies staff on this project.
Occasional meetings with other staff members of the Center have been held

3 , .-. w on heavily in support of this project. All chemical analyses have been

Carried out by the chemical laboratory staff which consists of one full-
~time technician and two part-time laboratory assistants. All three of the
Center's laboratories have been used extensively. To date, the 65 foot
R/V Neeskay has been used for 17 full days of sampling. This vessel is
operated and maintained by a full-time crew of two, the vessel master and
the vessel's engineer. Periodic use of a 16 foot Boston Whaler and outboard
has been made. The incubation equipment used in this project was constructed
in the Center's machine shop by the Center's machinist. A large number of
