4.6 GRAIN SIZE
4.6.1 The grain size shall be determined in accordance with ASTM E-112
or by a method approved by the purchaser.
4.6.2 The number of tests shall be in accordance with Section 4.7.
4.7 The following tests shall be performed for each furnace lot using
ring specimens cut from excess stock from the cups:
a. One test per lot for testing as specified in Section 4.3.1.
b. One test per lot for testing as specified in Section 4.5.1.
c. One test per lot for testing as specified in Section 4.5.2.
d. All other rings shall be tested for grain size.
Purchasers approval shall be required before initiating reduced testing.
4.8 DIMENSIONS AND FINISH
4.8.1 Dimensions: Each cup shall be measured to determine conformance
to the dimensions of the applicable drawing. A nonconforming cup shall
be subject to rejection.
4.8.2 Worknanship: Each cup shall be visually inspected and shall be
clean, and of uniform quality and condition.
4.9 LIQUID PENETRANT INSPECTION: Liquid penetrant inspection, when required,
shall be as specified on the applicable drawing.
4.10 TEST REPORTS: The manufacturer shall furnish five copies of a certified
test report showing the results of the tests specified in Sections 3.3, to
3.7 inclusive and bear a statement that the material conforms to this speci-
fication. The report shall also include the photomicrograph specified in
Section 3.8. The report shall show the Purchase Order Number; PDS 30103
(including the sub-letter and dash number); Dimensions; tot Identification
Numbers; Date of Test; Name of Manufacturer.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 MARKING: Shipping containers shall be plainly marked as follows:
Purchase Order Number; PDS 30103 (with applicable dash number); Lot Identifi-
cation Numbers; Name of Manufacturer.
5.2 PACKING: The cups shall be packed in appropriate containers to prevent
contamination and physical damage during shipment.
