3.4 DENSITY: The density of the cups at room temperature shall be 18.34
3.5 MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
3.5.1 Tensile Strength: The minimum tensile strength, at room
temperature, shall be 90,000 psi.
3.5.2 Deformation: The permanent deformation of a ring specimen
loaded across its diameter to produce a stress of 30,000 psi shall
be 0.7% maximum at 2500 + 250F.
3.6 CONDITION: The cups shall be annealed at 4000 + 40*F for 30 minutes
at a pressure of 10-5 torr, or less before machining.
3.7 GRAIN SIZE: The grain size, after annealing, shall be 7.5 or finer
(1600 per sq. mm).
3.8 MICROSTRUCTURE: A photomicrograph, at 1X magnification, shall be
furnished the purchaser from the ring segment or excess stock from the
cups used for the determination of grain size and be properly identified to
its orientation in the cup and its furnace and lot number.
3.9 SAMPLES: The rings and/or excess material not used in testing from
each cup shall be forwarded to the purchaser and be properly identified to
its furnace and lot number.
3.10 IDENTIFICATION: Each cup shall be identified to a furnace and a lot
number. A lot shall be defined as all material produced in one specific
