STUDY OF NEUTRAL CURRENTS IN THE ARGONNE
12-FOOT BUBBLE CHAMBER*

RESUME
Using the ANL 12-foot H2 bubble chamber filled with hydrogen
and deuterium, we have isolated neutral current events in the channels
vp - vpir , vp - vnn+, vn - vpr and vn-vK A . The neutral cur-
rent sample is compared to the corresponding charged current inter-
actions. We have carefully studied the background reactions which con-
tribute to these channels and conclude that we are able to isolate the
neutral current signal. The Weinberg-Salam gauge model is in good
agreement with our data.
Introduction'
In this talk I will concentrate on the weak neutral current reac-
tions seen in the 12-foot hydrogen deuterium bubble chamber. This
research is being carried out by a collaboration between Argonne and
Purdue University. The reactions which we have studied are:
1) vp - vpT
2) vp - vn+
3) vn - vpr
4) vn - vK A
5) vp - vp
