A small crowd watches outside the Texas Jewelry Store
in North Dallas, as, inside, uniformed policemen,
detectives and crime lab technicians search for clues
in a 10-thousand dollars jewel robbery.
U Fifty-year-old Ben F. Barnes says he was alone in E
the store at Webb Chappel and Royal Lane this morning,
when two armed men walked in. He says one guarded the
front door, while the other walked to the rear where
Barnes was repairing watches. He ordered the watch-
maker to take all the loose diamonds out of the safe...
so, Barnes opened the safe to show him it was empty.
The bandits settled for about fifty diamond rings and
ten expensive watches, which were on display in the
store. They fled in a late-model station wagon.
