Notes

Abstract: In 2018, the NSF-funded conference, “To Boldly Preserve: Archiving for the Next Half-Century of Space Flight,” will bring members of the historical and archival communities together with representatives of the space industry, records management, digital humanities, and libraries to examine the critical issues in creating, collecting, preserving, and accessing space archives worldwide.
This paper discusses how we will 1) collect data management strategies and toolboxes of exemplary best practices 2) promote and encourage space stakeholders to incorporate these strategies and practices and 3) encourage underrepresented minorities and communities to create and archive their contributions to space history.
