Notes

Abstract: "Procedures for the routine calibration of gamma-ray scintillation spectrometers and multichannel pulse-height analyzers are presented. A standard laboratory scintillation spectrometer, designed for the application of recently developed computer data processing techniques, is described in detail. The performance specifications required of all electronic components in this application are discussed. In particular, the performance specifications for multi-channel pulse-height analyzers, are treated at length and simple laboratory tests are described which will determine the performance specifications of an analyzer. These tests will include live-timer accuracy, zero and ADC stability with count rate, ADC linearity, and long-term system stability."
