FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
A. EQUIPMENT
1. Introduction
The specification defines the functional and safety requirements
for the TV visual instrumentation system. This system will consist of
four television camera chains, a video switcher, distribution amplifiers,
monitors, video recorders and ancillary equipment. Areas will be
monitored to assess damage, view indicators, controls, victims, reactor
containment and immediate site. The scenes will be viewed at the main
control area on monitors which are selectable for the cameras. Outputs
and equipment will be available to permit viewing at three other locations.
See Functional Block Diagram, Figure 1.
2. Radiation Tolerant Camera Chains
a. Introduction
Three radiation and environmental resistant camera chains will
be provided. Two chains shall be utilized for inside observation of
indicators, controls, victims, damage and the other for reactor safing,
cleanup, and control room. An accessory mounting device will be
provided to allow any two of these chains to be combined in an appropriate
configuration which will produce a three-dimensional picture.
The camera chains shall, under conditions defined, produce high
resolution, interference free pictures in all respects to EIA Standard
RS-170. Each camera chain shall be of identical construction and have
identical electrical and mechanical specifications.
b. Electrical Requirements
A minimum resolution of 600 lines horizontal in the center and
450 lines in the corners, using a maximum of 10 MC bandwidth and
375 lines vertical, shall be provided.-7-
