Description: Statement of Problem and Analytical Procedures The primary purpose of this study is to examine the song cycle An die ferne Geliebte, by Ludwig van Beethoven, in an effort to provide the performer substantive musical and poetic evaluations leading to a valid interpretation of the songs.
