Flight Investigation of Factors Affecting Pilots' Ability to Utilize a Radarscope Display of Steering Information

Description: Report presenting results of a flight investigation of a radar fire-control system installed in a fighter airplane. Some of the factors included in the radar evaluation are "noise" of the steering dot, lack of target-attitude information, and sensitivity and linearity of the display.

Occlusion Tolerant Object Recognition Methods for Video Surveillance and Tracking of Moving Civilian Vehicles

Description: Recently, there is a great interest in moving object tracking in the fields of security and surveillance. Object recognition under partial occlusion is the core of any object tracking system. This thesis presents an automatic and real-time color object-recognition system which is not only robust but also occlusion tolerant. The intended use of the system is to recognize and track external vehicles entered inside a secured area like a school campus or any army base. Statistical morphological ske… more

Tracking E-Resource Record Loads

Description: This tracking sheet was provided as a supporting document as part of the presentation, "E-Resource Cataloging: Challenges and Solutions." In the presentation, catalogers from a large academic library share how they make e-resources discoverable through their approach to record quality assessment, batch editing with regular expressions in MarcEdit, and record load tracking.

The Effects of Instructions on Schedule Sensitivity

Description: There are many situations in which human performances appear insensitive to changing contingencies of reinforcement when compared to nonhuman operant performances. Explanations of these discrepancies have appealed to rule-governance and have provided some evidence that instructions produce these differences by restricting response alternatives as well as functioning as discriminative stimuli for other contingencies. In order to further evaluate these potential functions, a canonical study on ru… more
