An accurate and rapid method for the design of supersonic nozzles

Description: From Introduction: "This report presents a computational procedure which provides for the rapid and accurate calculation of any streamline in a series of special flows. Detailed information is given on the boundary conditions and equations used for computing the characteristic nets and stream function."

An Analytic Determination of the Flow Behind a Symmetrical Curved Shock in a Uniform Stream

Description: From Introduction: "The present report is concerned with a closer investigation of the validity of this method and includes a more complete formulation, as well as the computation procedure, of the series expansion. As stated in reference 1, the flow thus determined depends only on the Mach number when the detached distance is adopted as the length scale. General formulas and the procedure of calculation are given in this report for such purposes."

Analysis of spanwise temperature distribution in three types of air-cooled turbine blade

Description: From Summary: An approximate method for determining the allowable stress-limited blade-temperature distribution is included, with brief accounts of a method for determining the maximum allowable effective gas temperatures and the cooling-air requirements. Numerical examples that illustrate the use of the various temperature-distribution equations and of the nondimensional charts are also included.

Contributions to the Data on Theoretical Metallurgy: [Part] 11. Entropies of Inorganic Substances: Revision (1948) of Data and Methods of Calculation

Description: From Introduction: "The present bulletin also contains all the pertinent explanatory matter that appeared in its predecessors. Thus, it retains the same dual purpose of assembling the available values of the entropies at 298.16 degrees K of the elements and inorganic compounds and giving enough explanation of methods of calculating entropies to make the results comprehensible."

Methods for Detecting and Determining Carbon Monoxide: Revision of Technical Paper 582

Description: From Purpose and Scope of Publication: "This publication discusses the various methods now used more or less for detecting and determining carbon monoxide in air and in other gaseous mixtures, outlining briefly the reactions or principles upon which the methods are based, the range of concentrations that may be determined, and the accuracy of determination."
