Vestibular and Electromagnetic Stimulation: Their Effects on Intellectual Performance and Mood State

Description: In the present study, the Electromechanical Therapeutic Apparatus was examined to determine the extent to which its repeated use can influence intellectual performance and mood state. The Electromechanical Therapeutic Apparatus is a device designed to mildly stimulate the body and brain, while facilitating relaxation. Its three components include a rotating platform-bed; a weak, extremely-low-frequency, external-electric field; and music. In the present study, three groups were contrasted, a mu… more

Electromagnetic and Other Environmental Effects Following Near-Death Experiences: A Primer

Description: Article describing the results of informal and formal research regarding electromagnetic (EM) effects of near-death experiences (NDEs); it reviews cases in which a person acts on his environment and those in which a person reacts to the environment. The paper also proposes more precise terminology regarding EM phenomena based on the research and literature review.

[Michael Faraday, Experimental Researches in Electricity]

Description: Photographs of "Experimental Researches in Electricity" by Michael Faraday, held by UNT Special Collections. The first shows the covers of the three books that are side by side each other, the two on the left are worn black in color and the one on the right a deep blue. The title is on the spines of the books, numbering Vol I, Vol II and Vol II fro left to right. Image 2, diagram inside "Experimental Researches in Electricity." The diagram extends out of the page, a circular figure in the middl… more

Artificially structured boundary for confinement of effectively unmagnetized cryogenic antimatter plasmas

Description: The article is from conference proceedings that discuss an artificially structured boundary (ABS) considered to consist of a spatially periodic arrangement of electrostatically plugged magnetic cusps. As envisioned, a non-neutral positron plasma could be confined by an ASB along its edge, and the space charge of the positron plasma would serve to confine an antiproton plasma. If the conditions of the two-species plasma are suitable, production of antihydrogen via three-body recombination for an… more

Space-charge-based electrostatic plasma confinement involving relaxed plasma species

Description: In this article, a numerical study is reported on the equilibrium properties of a surface-emitted or edge-confined non-drifting plasma. A self-consistent finite-differences evaluation of the electrostatic potential is carried out for a non-neutral plasma that follows a Boltzmann density distribution.

Spatially Periodic Electromagnetic Force Field For Plasma Confinement and Control

Description: In this article, a theoretical understanding is developed of the single-particle reflection properties of a force field, considering the incident charged particles to have a non-drifting, isotropic velocity distribution. Classical trajectory Monte Carlo simulations and analytical modeling are employed. The initiation of an experimental effort to study force fields is described.

Electrostatic storage ring with focusing provided by the space charge of an electron plasma

Description: Article describes an electronic storage ring that employs the space charge of an electron plasma for focusing. An advantage of the present concept is that slow ions, or even a stationary ion plasma, can be confined. The concept employs an artificially structured boundary, which is defined at present as one that produces a spatially periodic static field such that the spatial period and range of the field are much smaller than the dimensions of a plasma or charged-particle beam that is confined … more

Magnetobound positronium and protonium

Description: This article investigates the formation of magnetobound positronium and protonium via classical trajectory simulations of binary point charge interactions in an external magnetic field. The results of computer simulations of the fully three-dimensional trajectories of classical and non-relativistic point charges with the same mass, equal charge magnitude, and opposite sign are reported. The simulations show the formation of magnetobound positronium and protonium. The results yield formation cro… more

Artificially structured boundary plasma trap

Description: This article presents a computer simulation of single-species non-neutral plasma confinement using an artificially structured boundary. The results support the prospect of developing plasma space-charge based confinement, with an unmagnetized plasma of one species of charged particles confined by an electric field produced by an edge-confined plasma of a second species of charged particles.
