Effectiveness of microcounseling procedures in the training of play therapists

Description: The thrust of this study was to adapt the microcounseling paradigm to the skills utilized in play therapy. The basic problem was to teach prepracticum master's level counseling students three skills necessary to successful play therapy: limit setting, reflection of behavior statements, and reflection of feeling statements.

Spectrographic Analysis of the Acoustical Properties of Selected Vowels in Choral Sound

Description: The purposes of this study were (1) to categorize examples of vowel sounds by means of subjective evaluation, (2) to ascertain by spectrographic analysis the distinguishing characteristics of the acoustical properties of the examples in the categories, (3) to determine the similarities and dissimilarities which exist within and between the categories, and (4) to analyze the implications of the findings for the teaching of choral singing.
