Rectangular shaped; full-length, hanging sleeves in the Hirosode style, open beneath the underarm seams. Waist level seamed tuck. Full length, three panel skirt. Inside back yoke hanging to shoulder blades. Three Japanese characters worked in red thread below the inside back collar line. Contrasting warp and weft threads of blue and brown. Unlined.

Description: Black silk/rayon dress. Bound moderate V-neckline with V-shaped front yoke and square back yoke. The yokes are of black silk crepe chiffon backed with light brown-colored silk crepe. The yokes are appliquéd with stylized black silk/rayon floral and vine motifs. Full-length set-in sleeves with inset details to wrists. Description: Ivory silk crepe chiffon negligee. Semi-fitted bodice with deep plunging V-neckline. Short set-in sleeves. Five rows of tight smocking across the shoulders and extending down the sleeves. The bodice fullness gathers below the bust line into a wide waistband. The bodice of black silk is fitted and boned, with a high, standing black silk band collar with appliqued black lace medallions.
