The Relationship of Personality to the Selection of a Required Physical Education Activity by College Women
This investigation was designed to determine whether or not a significant relationship existed between personality and the selection of a required physical education activity and whether or not personality traits exhibited by freshman women were related to specific type activities. Sources of data were 107 freshman women enrolled in activity classes at North Texas State University, 1974-75. The Cattell 16 Personality Factor Inventory, Form A and an information sheet were the instruments utilized in the study. An analysis of variance was calculated to ascertain whether or not differences existed among the four groups in personality scores. This study concluded that no significant relationship appeared to exist between personality and the selection of specific physical activities.

A bacteriological study was made of a number of prepared foods that were bought ready-to-eat, for home consumption, from several food establishments in Dallas, Texas. The purpose of this study was to show whether these foods could be a potential source of food poisoning; whether there are any particular foods that should have greater care than others in order to protect their quality; and whether the bacteriological contamination could have been prevented by strict observance of the city regulations for handling foods.

An Occupational Follow-Up of Male Graduates of Denton High School, 1936-1940
"The first part of the study is devoted to a comparison of those graduates who stay in Denton with those who move away. The marital status of each group, where they live, and why they chose the cities in which they live are shown in this section. A study is made to determine if those graduates who have moved away choose cities larger or smaller than Denton. The second aspect of the problem is developed by making a comparison of the quality of work done in high school and amount of education of the two groups. To make this comparison, a study is made of the quartile rank in high school ; the number that attended college in each group; the schools they attended; and the number that graduated from college. The third part of the problem is a comparison of the degree of success attained by each group. the occupations of the graduates, the number who have their own businesses, the financial success of each group, and the relationship of education to financial success attained are shown. The fourth division of the problem is the presentation of suggestions given by the graduates for improving job opportunities in Denton. The Operation of the T Formation in Football at North Texas State College
The author undertook to present the system of football used by North Texas from 1940 through 1950, the T formation, which he has used since 1941. The purpose of the study was to present the T formation as we use it, in the system of football we endeavor to coach. A further purpose was to organize the data in such a way that they would be available for use by the Physical Education Department of North Texas State College, and perhaps be helpful to men working in the field of football coaching.
A Proposed Guidance Program for Electra High School
The problem of this study is to develop a functional plan for organizing, initiating, and administering a sound guidance program in the Electra, Texas, High School. Major emphasis has been placed upon a multidimensional guidance service in order that the optimum measure of guidance can be provided for all pupils in accordance with their needs. In order to plan a guidance program adapted to the needs of the particularly designated group of boys and girls, it was deemed necessary to discover their needs as much as possible, in a short period of time, by testing student opinion and knowledge. Another specific problem of the study is to survey the opinions of authorities in the field of guidance and personnel so as to determine what they think constitutes a sound guidance program in a secondary school. Thus, the problem of the writer resolves itself into a threefold undertaking, as follows: 1. To determine the guidance needs of the pupils of Electra High School. 2. To establish a set of criteria of soundness for a guidance program in a secondary school. The criteria are to be based upon the opinions of several authorities in the field of guidance. 3. The Effects of an Informational Briefing on the Attitudes of Certain High School Seniors in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area Toward the Air Force ROTC Training Program
This study was a simple "before" and "after" attitude measurement experiment using an experimental group and a control group. The attitude measurements were made before and after the subjects in the experimental group were presented an informational briefing about the Air Force ROTC training program. Both the experimental group and the control group were subject to exposure to the Air Force mass communication advertising during the two-month study period. The results indicate that the increased knowledge gained by the experimental group through its exposure to the informational briefing caused a negative change of attitude within the group. However, the control group had no significant change of attitude during the study period even though more than 87 percent of those subjects were exposed to some form of Air Force advertising.
A Study and Evaluation of Certain Practices of the Financial Administration of Industrial Arts Departments in Class A High Schools of Texas
This is a study and evaluation of certain practices in the financial administration of industrial arts programs operating in accredited four-year class "A" high schools in Texas. The study seeks to answer the following questions: 1. Are industrial arts teachers properly prepared to administer the financial transactions involved in an industrial arts program? 2. Is there a need for establishing standard practices and principles to be used in administering industrial arts finance? 3. Is there a danger of criticism of the industrial arts departments and the teachers, because of inefficiency in the administration of shop finance? 4. Are practices now in use basically sound? 5. Are adequate records being kept? 7. What steps should be taken to eliminate the objectional practices now in use and to initiate the more desirable ones?
The Texas State Program of Aid to Dependent Children, With Special Emphasis Upon Erath County
"The problem of this study is to determine whether or not the financial grants available under the Texas state program of aid to dependent children are adequate to meet the needs of the persons receiving such grants. In accomplishing this objective, it became necessary to make a survey of the Texas state program of aid to dependent children as administered by the Texas State Department of Public Welfare. The basis upon which aid is granted, the amount of grants available, and a study of legislation governing the state program of aid to dependent children will be given prominence in this investigation. Likewise, a somewhat detailed study of twenty families who are recipients, or who have recently been recipients of aid to dependent children, all located in Erath County, Texas, will be presented as typical representations of such families all over the state of Texas who receive grants of aid for dependent children."-- leaf 1.

The Effect of Environmental Conditions Upon Study in the First Grade
The problem under consideration is to determine the effect of certain prevailing environmental conditions of a distracting nature upon the process of study in the first grade. The conditions selected, those which are common to the schoolroom or home environment, were chewing gum, physical education classes, room confusion, rhythm band, singing, and recorded music. This study attempted to determine to what degree, if any, each of these distracting environmental conditions affect the process of study in the first grade.
Stylistic Evolution of the Motet Through the Sixteenth Century with Emphasis on the Style of Palestrina
The mass and the motet are the most important musical components of the Catholic liturgy. The development of vocal polyphony in the Medieval Period culminated in the perfection of these forms in the sixteenth century. The purpose of this thesis is to give an account of the development of religious monody and polyphony that led to the inception of the motet in the early part of the thirteenth century; to show the development of the motet through the sixteenth century; to give a more detailed analysis of the style of Palestrina; and to emphasize the analysis with a stylistic examination of a Palestrina motet.

This study is for the purpose of making a critical analysis of the health program of the white elementary public schools of Cleburne, Texas with implications for other other cities of corresponding size. This analysis is to evaluate the effectiveness of such a health program in light of certain evaluative criteria. It is intended to call attention to the existing facilities for adequate health instruction, the need, if any, for more and better facilities and the need for teacher training in this field.
