Use of concrete polymer materials in the transportation industry

Description: Under contract to the FHWA, Brookhaven National Laboratory has developed a polymer concrete patching material that combines the premix characteristics of PCC with strength and durability properties that are higher than PCC. PC overlays have been shown to be highly impermeable to water and chlorides. Laydown techniques have been developed to allow bridge maintenance crews to place the overlays with little or no problems.
