Neutron Total Cross Section for Bismuth and Uranium Between 45 and 160 Mev

Description: "Neutron total cross sections for bismuth and uranium have been measured in a good geometry transmission experiment, using a time-of-flight instrumentation. The source of neutrons was the stripped deuteron beam of the 184-inch synchrocyclotron. The results are shown in Fig. 1. Uncertainties are shown in terms of standard deviations, due to counting statistics only, and to energy channel width."

Bismuth

Description: This report provides a broad and in depth discussion of bismuth, discussing the properties of bismuth--including physical, electrochemical, and chemical properties. It then discusses the processes by which bismuth is detected and how bismuth can be separated and isolated, with discussions of dissolution, precipitation, and extraction.

Bismuth in the United States

Description: Report issued by the U.S. Bureau of Mines discussing bismuth ores and supplies in the United States. As stated in the abstract, "domestic bismuth supply was projected from production figures for the ores in which it occurs - copper, lead, zinc, and tungsten" (p. 1). This report includes maps, tables, and illustrations.
