Maklak boots

Description: Traditional eskimo (Inuit, IƱupiat, or Yupik) maklak or kamik boots of brown and white fur trimmed with bands of green leather at top and white fur with inserted black fur dots below the green. Straps of leather for securing the boots wrap around the ankles and across the vamp and tie at the front of the ankle; hide soles.

Description: Man's tuxedo/formal shirt of white cotton with bib and cuffs of white pique cotton. Long vented sleeves with French cuffs. Banded neckline for detachable collar with plastic tab at back of neckline. Back opening with single button closure. Stamped at center front below waist: Mitoga / Kirk 28 / 848 15 2 33 Neck bears the laundry mark initials for Jonathan Hampton Kuykendall: JHK

Floral handkerchief

Description: Ladies' handkerchief. Square of off-white fabric. Printed outer border of peach, with inner scalloped line of brown. Each corner with large printed floral (rose?) design in peach, brown, white, and blue/green. No labels or tags. Approx. 12" square.

Gat

Description: Gat Korean man's hat of black stiffened buckram and crinoline. Flat, round crinoline brim with black lacquered willow stiffener at the outer edge. Tall cylindrical crown with flat top. The top of the crown is embellished with a black filigree silhouette sandwiched between the two layers of buckram. Long black gauze ties attached at the base of the crown.

Tubeteika hat

Description: Traditional Uzbek (Samarkand) tubeteika style hat of deep purple velour trimmed with black velour along bottom. Hat is square shaped with slightly pyramid shaped crown. Trimmed in metallic thread embroidery in a floral design with sequin accents; design is on each side, and four designs on top of crown. Designs consist of teardrop shape at center with red or green velour fill with a small sprig in the center and flowers branching out from each side. Interior of black webbed cotton.

Handkerchief

Description: Ladies' handkerchief. Square of pale green fabric with shaped outer edge machine embroidered with off-white. One corner with white embroidered floral and scroll motif in same off-white thread. No labels or tags. Approx. 9 3/4" square.

Description: Mousquetaire style hat of black felt with high flat crown and brim turned up at back. Trimmed with pairs of pearls around crown and brownish-black ostrich feathers. Four knotted bows on back brim give arrow effect. Black grosgrain headband; unlined.
