News Magazine Use Of and Attitudes Toward Leaks in their Coverage of the Decline and Fall of Spiro T. Agnew
This study is a content analysis of the coverage in Time, Newsweek, and U. S. News & World Report on Spiro Agnew from August 13 to October 22, 1973, and is concerned with the use of leaks as determined by analyzing the levels of attribution and the attitudes of the magazines toward leaks. All three magazines used approximately equivalent amounts of material from concealed sources. Time and Newsweek defended the use of leaks; U. S. News & World Report attacked their use. The perils inherent in using information from concealed sources make it necessary to consult as many sources as feasible when following a controversial story.
An Analysis of Magazine News and Editorial Coverage of the 1973 Chilean Military Coup
The study focused on the positive or negative direction shown in 57 articles from ten English-language magazines covering the 1973 military coup in Chile, September 1 to December 31, 1973, inclusive. Magazines chosen were from the fields of news, religion, opinion, and business. Direction was determined by comparing individual thought units within articles against a category table comprising mutually exclusive pairs of thought units. Directional value of each article was determined by positive and negative ratios. Results showed a wide variation in scores, with news magazines adhering most closely to the objective ideal. Recommendations for further study included long-term study of single magazines or classes of magazines for direction, and an expanded mathematical analysis.

Male and Female Roles in the Lyrics of Three Genres of Contemporary Music
A sample of the top fifty songs of 1973 in Soul, Country-Western, and Easy Listening music is content-analyzed to determine dominant theme and type of love relationship presented. Most of the songs are about women and are sung by men. Hence, male artists continue to dominate the record industry. Criteria for evaluating direction of presentation are applied to lyrics to determine how men present women and women present men. Songs with the heterosexual theme are analyzed to determine conformity to six male and six female stereotypical traits. Males conform to the male stereotype in larger percentages than females conform to the female stereotype. Differences in female role expectations vary among the three genres.

Airborne /sup 238/Pu and /sup 239/Pu associated with the larger than ''respirable'' resuspended particles at Rocky Flats during July 1973
In July 1973, a field experiment was conducted at Rocky Flats to measure plutonium resuspension. Previously, for this experiment, airborne plutonium concentrations in respirable size ranges were reported. Concentrations were measured at three sites between the eastern security fence and eastern cattle fence. On 13 nonrespirable particle diameter ranges between 10 and 210 ..mu..m, /sup 239/Pu concentrations range from 10/sup -8/ to 10/sup -4/ ..mu..Ci/g. Airborne /sup 238/Pu concentrations as a function of particle diameter ranged from 10/sup -9/ to 10/sup -5/ ..mu..Ci/g. Both /sup 238/Pu and /sup 239/Pu were found on all particle diameter ranges. Airborne plutonium fluxes on nonrespirable particles decreased with both height and distance. The nonrespirable total /sup 239/Pu flux ranged from 1 x 10/sup -7/ to 6 x 10/sup -4/ ..mu..Ci/m/sup 2//day. Airborne /sup 238/Pu//sup 239/Pu ratios were always equal to or greater than similar ratios reported measured on the ground surface. Ground surface ratios ranged from 1.5 x 10/sup -2/ to 2.2 x 10/sup -2/. Only near the eastern security fence were airborne ratios similar to ground level ratios. At the eastern security fence, airborne /sup 238/Pu//sup 239/Pu ratios ranged from 0.2 to 0.4. These airborne ratios were one order of magnitude greater than ground surface ratios. Increased ratios indicate /sup 238/Pu is more readily resuspended at greater distances from the eastern security fence than near the eastern security fence.

The Perceived Effect of Management Education on the Indigenization of Selected Nigerian Multinational Corporations
The problem of this research concerned the perceived effect of management education on the indigenization of selected multinational corporations in Nigeria. The related purposes of the investigation were to analyze data from the respondents in multinational corporations, higher educational institutions and government parastatals to identify the differences and similarities that existed between the perceptions of general managers, managing directors, management educators, government officials, and final-year business administration students. Four areas addressed in the inquiry were to: identify the management training objectives for Nigerian higher education institutions, determine the perceived effect of management education on the indigenization of selected Nigerian multinational corporations, ascertain the increased number of Nigerians who assumed management positions between 1973 and 1984, and examine the perceived effect of management education on the job performance of the management education graduates.
