Description: Hatlet of multi-colored feathers. The hat is formed as a low, head-hugging dome of brown felt. This crown is completely covered with featherwork in various colors, including dyed green, red, yellow and natural brown quail(?), black and white, blue and white, and gray and white feathers. At one side is a bow of stiffened green and red velvet. The hat is unlined, with a brown grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. The hat is accompanied by two short hatpins, the heads covered with small squares of red velvet.

Description: Calotte of maroon satin and black sequins. Hat styled as a calotte (also spelled "calot") with rounded low crown of maroon satin covered with scrolling lines of black sequins. The lower edge of the crown is shaped into irregular points and curves, and is edged with black velvet. A short black veil encircles the hat and hangs down slightly.

Description: Headband of brown satin and brown mink. The hat is formed on a base of brown satin covered stiffened wire which creates a curved openwork crown running across head of wearer. On the front part of the framework is overlaid a panel of brown mink. At back and on each side is a large brown satin bow. Label inside: "Marian Marcia / Exclusives" May be read as "Marian Warcia" also.

The headpiece consists of a flat black velvet bow with trailing ribbons that sits at top of wearer's head, at center of a veil of fine black mesh. Description: Hat of white straw. The beret-style hat of white straw, the crown formed of 8 segments. Extending from one side are two "swallow-tail" segments of off-white grosgrain ribbon. Inside of crown lined in panels of off-white grosgrain, and with two inner hatbands of grosgrain ribbon, one white and one brown. Label sewn to brown inner hatband: "Belmar" (Possibly "Betmar")

Description: Pillbox hat of beaded straw. The modified pillbox hat has a cylindrical crown of white straw embellished with tiny white beads sewn on in an all-over foliate design. Within the crown is an inner woven structure which extends slightly below the edge of the crown, having the effect of raising the hat slightly off of the head and giving space around it. The inner structure has an inner hatband of red grosgrain ribbon, and a white felt-covered wired structure to help secure the hat to the wearer's head. Label inside crown: "Marché Exclusive"

Description: Headpiece, possibly for a wedding. The headpiece is formed as a "butterfly" shaped wired under-structure covered with white velvet, curved to fit the wearer across the top of the head from ear to ear. The "wings" of the butterfly are covered with a wide white mesh, and on each side is a large artificial flower of white taffeta and white velvet, with green velvet leaves with rhinestones. Some remains of beige veiling. No labels or tags.

Description: Picture hat of black straw. Domed crown with uneven top, encircled at base of crown with black velvet 1/2" wide ribbon with trailing ends. Circular brim is set off-center so that it is deeper at front (7") than back (4 1/2", and curves downwards. Unlined, with inner black grosgrain ribbon hatband. Only label in hat is size label: "Medium". Accompanied by a simple short hatpin with black head.

The hatlet is formed on a base of black velvet ribbon which creates an open oval at top back of head, and has a cross-piece across head and with extending swallow-tail piece towards wearer's temple. Along front, the ribbon is embellished with sequins and beads, and there is a large pouf of black, curly feathers at right side, which extends across front. The hatlet is unlined, and has no labels.

Lined in a similar color net/mesh, the underside has an inner stiffened structure edged with velvet ribbon, with extending wired triangular areas to help secure hat to wearer's head. Description: Hat of navy blue straw. The very shallow crown is slightly domed, and surmounted by a large flat grosgrain ribbon bow. The wide brim curves down at outer edges, forming a deep curve. The whole rests on a hidden skull-cap crown with panel that extends down and over the back and sides of head. The hat is overlaid with a dark blue net veil worked with circular areas.

Formed somewhat as a Juliet cap, the net base has wire stiffened edges and forms a close, rounded crown with sections that extend down sides and back of head. The base is covered with artificial flowers (daisies or dogwood blossoms?), with green cloth stems and leaves, the blossoms with white petals and yellow centers. Unlined. With 3 black bobby-pins for securing to wearer's head.
