Headpiece

Description: Headpiece of moderately muted red orange velour. The covered wire bandeau is designed to be worn over head, encircling ears, and has about thirty velour loops accented with eight randomly tied dangling pendants. Each pendant consists of three silver-colored globular beads and three silver oval beads and one larger white opaque globular glass bead at the end of each pendant. Donor stated that the piece had been worn by the Russian ballet dancer, Anna Pavlova.

Description: Drawstring reticule of dark brown glass beads on brown crochet. Trimmed with three tiers of looped, beaded fringe and looped, beaded tassel. Velvet ribbon drawstring with crocheted loops. Lined in brown cotton. Measurements: 16 cm across top; 25.5 cm from top to bottom, excluding tassel.

Evening coat

Description: Evening coat of black rayon, crepe textured jacquard. Black chiffon below fur at cuffs. Black glass beaded geometric spiral motif embellishments. The beading repeats the spiral pattern of the jacquard/damask weaving of the cloth. Rayon braid center closure; square shaped with two hook & loops. Narrow shawl collar of black rabbit fur with matching fur at cuffs. Lined in gray/green crepe. 22 inch waist.

Velvet hat

Description: Hat in Renaissance inspired style of red purple/plum silk velvet. The hat has elements of a turban and beret. It is made with an oversized crown of velvet gathered, caught, and draped, pulling under and then back out to form a brim that does not extend as far as the billows of fabric from the crown.
