[Transcript: A Paris Journal]

Description: Edited transcript of a diary kept by Bill Nelson, Jr. from January 31 to August 2, 1971 while he was living in Paris, France for eight months in his early twenties. The original handwritten diary has been transcribed and images of subjects mentioned are embedded in the text. In the diary Nelson details his sightseeing trips in France, as well as his romantic and sexual encounters with men.

Beaded coat

Description: Sweatsuit-inspired beaded bomber or sukajan jacket. Jacket is styled with ribbed standing collar, lower raglan sleeves and hem of gray fleece resembling a sweat jacket with main body of gold metallic fabric heavily beaded in iridescent green/blue and purple bugle and seed beads. Beading is of two phoenixes on left and right front sides and Chinese dragon on back. Center front zipper closure with two slides. Lined in black crepe.
