Bounds on Unparticles from the Higgs Sector

Description: We study supersymmetric QCD in the conformal window as a laboratory for unparticle physics, and analyze couplings between the unparticle sector and the Higgs sector. These couplings can lead to the unparticle sector being pushed away from its scale invariant fixed point. We show that this implies that low energy experiments will not be able to see unparticle physics, and the best hope of seeing unparticles is in high energy collider experiments such as the Tevatron and the LHC. Electronic Structure of Halogen Doped CuCr2Se4

Description: We have employed element and chemically sensitive X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) in order to address a long standing controversy regarding the electronic and magnetic state of CuCr{sub 2}Se{sub 4} via halogen doping of the Se anion site in CuCr{sub 2}Se{sub 4-x}Y{sub x} (Y=Cl and Br). MCNP Comparison With Point Source Measurements From a Portable HPGe System

Description: The Ortec trans-SPEC is a portable gamma ray spectrometer which is approximately 10.4 kg in total weight and 37 cm × 16 cm × 32 cm in overall size It utilizes a P-type 50 mm diameter and 30 mm height coaxial HPGe detector and has more than 3 hours of battery life when fully charged. Can cross sections be accurately known for priori?

Description: Distinct maxima and minima in the neutron total cross section uncertainties were observed in our large scale covariance calculations using a spherical optical potential. In this contribution we investigate the physical origin of this oscillating structure. Description: We have been using alumina scintillators for imaging beams in heavy-ion beam fusion experiments in 2 to 4 transverse dimensions [1]. The scintillator has a limited lifetime under bombardment by the heavy ion beams. As a possible replacement for the scintillator, we are studying the technique of imaging the beam on a gas cloud. Calculation of Radiative Corrections to Hyperfine Splitting in p1/2 States

Description: Techniques to calculate one-loop radiative corrections to hyperfine splitting including binding corrections to all orders have been developed in the last decade for s states of atoms and ions. In this paper these methods are extended to p{sub 1/2} states for three cases. The effect of unheated sections on moisture transport in theemplacement drift
