Aerial Radiometric and Magnetic Survey of the Brownfield National Topographic Map, NI 13-9, Texas and New Mexico

Description: From introduction: Geodata International, Incorporated, conducted an airborne gamma ray and total magnetic field survey which covered a region of North Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The specific area of this report as outlined on Figure 1 was surveyed from an aircraft using large-volume radiation detectors with computer-controlled airborne equipment. Each map line was flown in an east-west direction with an average length of 120 miles and each tie line was flown in a north-south direction wit… more

Summary of the Stratigraphy, Sedimentology, and Mineralogy of Pennsylvanian and Permian Rocks of Oklahoma in Relation to Uranium-Resource Potential

Description: Report describes the structural and stratigraphic framework, depositional environment, and petrology and petrography of the various Pennsylvanian-Permian time and rock units present in Oklahoma. This report identifies five geologic settings favorable for the localization of uranium, such as alluvial fan deposits, oil-productive structures where Permian sandstones are altered, tidal-flat sandstone-silstones, channel sandstones on gentle structural features, and oil-productive Cherokee sandstones. more

Plate 8. Eagle and Charley River Area: Sample Locations and Generalized Geology

Description: From addendum: Two types of analyses for uranium in the stream-sediment samples are presented. One split of the stream-sediment samples was sent to Resource Associates of Alaska's laboratory, where they were analyzed for U by the fluormetric method after acid extraction. This is the method employed for U by most laboratories. The completeness of uranium extraction unavoidably varies with the particular type of uranium-bearing minerals present and possibly with the amount of iron, manganese, and… more
