Compost sonore

Description: Recording Michel Tetreault's Compost sonore. The inspiration from this piece is "Compost", a word which, in the dictionary, comes after "composition" and which, for transposition, can mean: recovery of sound debris, musical materials, scraps of old pieces, used as fertilizer for a new musical piece. Almost all sounds in this work are "concrete" in nature. The sound of water is barely transformed to avoid losing their "natural" reference. These must have been used without much transformation, wh… more

The electroacoustic material was mainly generated and processed with an ARP 2600 synthesizer and other analogues devices, that's why its title. The guitar part -five little pieces- belongs to a largest piece for guitar alone (Dobles A, 1988). The formal organisation keeps the articulation in five parts but, four interludes and a finale -with only electronics sounds- were intercalated and superposed, producing different kinds of… more

Estudio sobre una configuración fractal

Description: Recording of Daniel Zimbaldo's Estudio sobre una configuración fractal. This piece is inspired by a mathematical theory that fractals follow the concept of the self-likeness, which is a characteristic of those systems in which the structure remains constant to the variation of the observation scale. These fractals are only 15 seconds of time and the theory also explains how these are present in natural sounds. This piece uses electronic sounds and samples to utilize this theory.
