Agenda Ecclesiae Moguntinensis

Description: Agenda ecclesiae from the Catholic archdiocese of Mainz. This extensive volume includes calendars for movable feasts, a daily listing of feast days for commemoration, days for fasting and abstinence from eating meat, and instructions for priests on administering the sacraments, texts of various blessings and prayers, with text in Latin and German. The volume includes notated musical settings, and a catechism in German.

In Die Resurrectionis

Description: Recording of Luigi Ceccarelli's In Die Resurrectionis. This is an electro-acoustic installation for the basilica of San Vitale inspired by the 12th century sacred musical tradition of Ravenna. This work was commissioned by the Ravenna Festival. The composer describes this work as his exploration of the relationship between music and spirituality, using Gregorian chant and traditional choral music to emphasize this.

The Booke of Common Prayer

Description: 1611 edition of the Book of Common Prayer, with psalms. The psalms include incipits in Latin, and occasional notated settings, along with the traditional canticles (Benedictus, Magnificat, Nunc Dimmitis) for morning, evening, and night prayer, Te Deum, the Athanasian Creed, and other hymns and prayers.

Description: This piece was composed in honour of the death of Salvador Dali, the surrealist painter, who shares my birthday. The piece attempts to musically interpret and transliterate the techniques and aesthetic of surrealism. Digital "samples" (analogous to photo realistic images in painting) are taker out of context and modified or "warped".
