A Multiple Bridge for Elimination of Contact-Resistance Errors in Resistance Strain-Gauge Measurements

Description: Note presenting a multiple-bridge circuit that eliminates contact-resistance errors of the first order between the arms of the ordinary Wheatstone bridge. The circuit is applied to the elimination of the effects of contact-resistance variations that may occur in resistance strain-gage measurements made through switch contacts or slip rings. The general theory is derived and correct circuits and constructions are described.

Neutron Diffusion in a Space Lattice of Fissionable and Absorbing Materials

Description: Methods are developed for estimating the effect on a critical assembly of fabricating it as a lattice rather than in the more simply interpreted homogeneous manner. An idealized case is discussed supposing an infinite medium in which fission, elastic scattering and absorption can occur, neutrons of only one velocity present, and the neutron m.f.p. independent of position and equal to unity with the unit of length use.
