Description: From abstract: This report presents preliminary results of stream sediment and ground water reconnaissance in the Greenville National Topographic Map Series (NTMS) 10 x 20 quadrangle. Stream sediment samples were collected from small streams at 1413 sites for a nominal density of one site per 13 square kilometers (five square miles) in rural areas. Ground water samples were collected at 731 sites for a nominal density of one site per 25 square kilometers (ten square miles).

Topaz Deposits Near the Brewer Mine, Chesterfield County, South Carolina

Description: From introduction: Lode and placer deposits of massive topaz rock were discovered near the old Brewer gold mine in northwestern Chesterfield County, S. C., in 1935. Preliminary tests have shown that this rock can be used in the manufacture of refractory ware and as a source of mullite, thus augmenting supplies of kyanite that have been coming from India.

Parr Area (ARMS-II)

Description: From Purpose of Survey: "The ARMS-II Parr area survey was one of many that have been flown for the CETO since the nationwide ARMS program was started (1958). Figure 2 shows the location of the areas survey as of Apr. 1, 1964.
