Lamar-Merifield Technical Report 79-6: Appendix

Description: Report presenting the test pit logs and additional laboratory analysis results for a uranium distribution investigation of sedimentary facies in Kern Lake, California. Test pit logs record the sample data, visual geographic log and descriptions of specified regions in the area. Tables of laboratory analysis record the surface depth and percentage of sand, silt, clay, and carbon samples for trench samples collected for the study.

Plate 8. Eagle and Charley River Area: Sample Locations and Generalized Geology

Description: From addendum: Two types of analyses for uranium in the stream-sediment samples are presented. One split of the stream-sediment samples was sent to Resource Associates of Alaska's laboratory, where they were analyzed for U by the fluormetric method after acid extraction. This is the method employed for U by most laboratories. The completeness of uranium extraction unavoidably varies with the particular type of uranium-bearing minerals present and possibly with the amount of iron, manganese, and… more

Ejecta from Single-Charge Cratering Explosions: Volume 1

Description: "Eight high-explosive charges weighing 8 to 1000 pounds were detonated in playa. Each event included 24 to 40 locations of tracer material in the expected crater region. The objective was to obtain data relating the origin of crater ejecta to its depositional location. Resulting data are presented for craters, ejecta areal densities, crater and ejecta mass quantities, tracer dispersion, and an empirical prediction model."
