Description: This investigation was undertaken to develop a low-drag fixed slot for an airplane wing which would avoid the complications and maintenance difficulties of the present movable-type Handley Page slot. Description: "This report presents the results of tests made at a high value of the Reynolds Number in the N.A.C.A. variable-density wind tunnel to determine the aerodynamic characteristics of an airfoil as affected by fabric sag. Description: This report presents the results of a series of wind tunnel tests showing the force, moment, and autorotational characteristics of Clark Y airfoils having aspect ratios varying from 0.5 to 3. The Controls at Low Hinge Moments

Description: A very stable airplane remains very maneuverable when the hinge moments of the controls remain inferior to those obtained with the conventional forms and when the wing lift at high angles has been improved. From this point of view, elevators balanced by recoil of the hinge, and slotted wings present some interesting features. Determination of Stresses and Deformations of Aircraft Propellers

It is shown that the shape of the propeller greatly affects the stresses, and that great caution must be exercised if the relieving effect of the centrifugal force, which exists in every propeller with a straight blade axis, is to be increased by curving the blade axis. Effect of aging on taut rubber diaphragms

Description: As part of an investigation of special compositions of rubber suitable for use as diaphragms for aircraft instruments, six samples were used as taut diaphragms in instruments and allowed to age for five years. Two of the instruments were in operating condition after this period of time and one had remarkably little change in performance. In making the rubber tetraethyl thorium disulfide was employed as a vulcanizing agent.
