Close fitting brim and neckband with gathered muslin ruffles. The brim ruffle framing the face is edged with delicate. ivory. cotton lace. The neckband is adjustable with a fine cord running through a narrow casing. The cord ties inside centerback. Chin tie ribbons of ivory muslin. There is an inscription. in fine script. written in brown ink on the outside of the right neckband: "M.A. O'Hare".

- Woman’s shoe of white leather with removable plackets. A) Shoe with pointed toe, tongue with scalloped edge, machine stitching down center front. Tabs across upper vamp with buttons at sides (one button missing). Cuban heel, sole shaped for right foot, made of leather attached with nails on heel. Label: "Kendall" (rest illegible) B) Placket of rectangle of white leather with bronze colored beads and amber colored stones. Oblong band of leather underneath, with button holes with machine stitching on either end. C) Placket of rectangle of white leather (?) with white beads and clear stones. Oblong band of self underneath, with button holes with machine stitching on either end.
- Uchikake
- Wedding uchikake (padded hem kimono) of ecru rinzu (silk patterned like damask) background with embroidered ume and branch (plum blossoms) designs in metallic gold and silk green, orange, and yellow threads in the foreground. Partially lined in orange silk of two different colors. Hand-sewn. Padding is found through out garment - thickest remaining layers at hem, wrist-opening of sleeve and front collar panel. Lining is also rinzu (damask styled) silk - but unadorned, of similar pale color. No mons (or family crests) on this garment.

- Child's dress ensemble of tan cotton with green and red/orange floral print consisting of: A) Skirt. Full length; pleated. One-inch waistband of muslin. Right side slit pocket. Center back opening; closures missing. Bottom of inside hem lined in brown glazed cotton; balance of skirt unlined. B) Bodice. Fitted with wide neckline; dropped shoulders. Neckline is trimmed with double row of fluted fabric of self. Short, puffed sleeves with caps trimmed with fluted fabric of same. V-shaped pleats in front. Center back opening closes with 9 hook & eyes. Lined in muslin. C) Fichu. Triangular panels of decreasing size applied to look like pleats. Four-inch epaulets of same with self-covered buttons at ends. Seven self-covered buttons down center back seam with evidence of three missing buttons. Lined in brown glazed cotton.

- Sunbonnet
- Sunbonnet of tan and blue braided straw. The hat has a wired brim and a grayish-white silk lining. It is trimmed in tan silk ribbon, and the bavolet, or back panel which shades the neck, is composed of brown, brick red, tan and blue striped cotton fabric. The ties are of brown silk taffeta and are attached to lower edge of brim with a herringbone stitch. The TFC thanks Rebecca Jumper Matheson for her research on this object.
- Bonnet
- Bonnet of blue silk. Brim is hand-quilted in square corners and curving lines that follow the shape of the brim in even lines. The brim is composed of 3 pieces of silk fabric, which are pieced together and then quilted. Cotton used as batting material throughout. The crown is entirely quilted in rows of horizontal stitching and radiating circles. The tail has L-shaped quilting, which echoes the front edge of the tail. The chin ties are striped silk ribbons. Some areas of fabric loss and shattering on bonnet and ties.

- Walking dress of green silk taffeta with warp printed black dot pattern. A) Bodice. Standing collar trimmed in green silk braid. Long sleeves of curved construction with epaulette trim of matching fabric bordered in fringed braid matching the collar and separate bow of matching braid; peaked appliqué of matching green braid and two covered buttons at cuffs. Center front closure of hidden hooks with faux button closure of green silk covered buttons matching sleeve cuffs. Boning at right side opening. Lined in brown mercerized cotton. B) Dress/skirt. Top of dress is brown mercerized cotton with short sleeves and closure of hook and eyelets. Skirt of green taffeta matching bodice. Lined in brown polished cotton.

- Back hair comb of arched brass trimmed with crescent-shaped circlets and pearls, looped brass chains and hanging brass chains ending in pearls and pendants. Blond tortoise shell comb is attached by a hinge. No markings.

- Baby shoes of aqua kid leather trimmed in aqua grosgrain ribbon; two eyelets (missing laces); leather soles; hand-sewn; 10 1/2cm length.

- Native American moccasins of buckskin leather with beaded upper in light blue seed beads with design in red and navy blue. Handmade and hand beaded.
- Christening Gown
- Christening gown of white cotton muslin. Hand made and embroidered. Gathered waist trimmed in laisse anglais. Rounded neckline with V insert of eyelet lace. Eyelet trim at wrists, neck and hem. Scalloped insert panel down front trimmed in tatted eyelet with floral embroidery and six tiers of tatted eyelet. Center back opening is pleated with three covered buttons and drawstring at waist.
- Coat
- Coat of navy-blue silk satin with embroidery in polychrome silks. Round neck, opens down center front, long kimono sleeves, side slits at hem. All the embroidery on the body of the coat is in flower motifs worked in satin stitch. Round embroidery medallions at the center front, center back, over both shoulders and 4 at the hem. Scattered all-over are other smaller motifs. The round neck, the bottom of the sleeves and the hem are decorated with a band of blue embroidery and a woven ribbon trimming. The sleeves also have a wide cuff of cream satin decorated with embroidery worked in french knots and couching. The cuff embroidery is in a design that looks like various, flowers, a potted plant and a number of bats. The coat is fully lined in a brocaded cream satin, which was sewn directly over an older lining of pale blue silk. The front fastens with 4 coiled frogs which were applied after the cream satin lining. The coat is a woman's style because of the side slits, whereas a mans coat would be slit at the center front and back.

- Drawstring purse of hand-loomed or woven cotton in navy blue floral-inspired linear design. Twisted cord of white and blue. Unlined. No labels. Measurements: Width: 10 1/4" Height: 10 1/4" Depth: 1/8"

- Ladies' cap, handmade fine batiste, lavishly embroidered with lace trim.

- Childs ankle boot of tan leather; flat leather soles; lace-up; toe cap with design stitched across it; brown fabric sides with black design in the fabric. 15cm length
- Mitts
- Pair of black cotton lace mitts. The wrist-length fingerless gloves are of hand-crocheted lace, in a wide mesh. Slight frill at wrist, and separate thumb. A narrow black ribbon is threaded through the cuff, one ribbon lacking.

- Small reticule of off-white crochet with open weave clover design in center; unlined. Measurements: 9 cm x 17.5 cm

- Shoe buckles of gilt metal openwork in floral vine motif. Teardrop shaped with clip on closure in embossed filigree design. Stamped "LN" at point of teardrop.

- Sunbonnet
- Sunbonnet of black silk taffeta. The brim of the hat has 6 shirred hoops with deep padding in between, and a ruffled edge of the same fabric. At center back of neck, on the tail of the hat, is a flat bow of black silk taffeta, and the ties are of black silk taffeta ribbon. The crown is lined with brown glazed cotton fabric. - Wool hat
- Hat of off-white wool yarn and beads. Hat is based on a fanchon style, consisting of a knitted, somewhat diamond-shaped piece to fit across top of head and extending down sides to the ears, with wide off-white silk ribbon ties at end of extensions. Unlike a regular fanchon, which is solely of a piece of flat lace, this cap has a deep pile of the same wool yarn over the entire surface of the cap, each piece tipped with a cylindrical frosted white bead.
