- Evening dress of black net in diamond-shaped pattern over black underdress with appliqués of gold, silver, red, pink, and magenta metallic dots and small pompoms. Wide, U-shaped neckline. Asymmetric hemline is street length in front tapering to full length in back with short train. Two-tiered, 14" and 16", gathered hemline. - Cocktail hat of black velvet. The hat has a high, cylindrical crown with flattened top, and a wide brim which curves downwards. Around the base of the crown is tied a wide piece of black net veiling tied to a bow at back. The veiling "pools" on the sides and front of the brim and extends down to cover wearer's face.
