Japanese Kasuri (woven panel). Combination of warp and weft cotton double dyed kasuri (ikat) create bold geometric pattern - fish created solely by weft kasuri. This type of combined ikats is known as 'e-gasuri' - delicately drawn fish motif alternating with bold geometric blocks. Indigo dyed Kasuri panels were woven in narrow strips of approximately 13 " W because of the size of the loom.
