Evening Coat
Evening coat of gold metallic brocade in a floral motif with multicolored rectangles. Cocoon-style, with white fox collar, the full-length barrel sleeves with matching fur trimmed cuffs. Shoes
Pair of ladies' white heavy satin wedding shoes. Designed with pointed toes, the shoes have a fastening strap across instep with a single domed opalescent/milky white glass button. Across vamp is applied white satin bow with decorative gilt metal rectangular buckle with lobed ends. One buckle missing. Lined in white fabric. Sole of natural brown leather, heel covered in white satin. Medium-height heel with rounded sides and back, curving inwards and then flaring out to base, similar to a Louis heel. Cloche
Cloche hat of lace and velvet. The deep, domed crown is of peach satin (?) overlaid with a silver metallic lace. At the front of the crown are applied leaf shapes of dark pink velvet that form a fan-motif. The lowest leaves on each side extend to become a shallow brim for the hat, also formed of the dark pink velvet. The leaves and the brim are quilted with metallic silver stitching. Brown gabardine suit. a) Suit jacket of brown gaberdine. Long sleeves. Single breasted with three circular brown buttons and bound buttonholes. Two faux flap pockets at yoke with matching, smaller buttons and bound buttonholes. Two lower hacking pockets with matching, smaller buttons and bound buttonholes. V-shaped yoke on back. Skirt suit of navy blue double knit wool. a) Jacket of navy blue double knit wool. Shawl collar, full-length sleeves with functioning button on each sleeve. Center front opening which secures with attached 3" belt of self with two matching buttons. Four front patch pockets, each securing with single matching button. All buttons are smooth, circular mother-of-pearl buttons set in gold tone mounts and all buttonholes are bound. Cream silk(?) lining. Designer's label at inside left: "Norell" Retailer's label at inside back collar: "Nan Duskin / Philadelphia" b) Skirt of same material. 3/4 length. A-line which gathers slightly into 2-1/2" wide waistband. Left side zipper with hook-and-loop at waistband. Lined in dark blue nylon(?).
