Description: Carbatina shoe of petrified leather in “gladiator” style, with seam at center back and open perforated loops at sides of vamp, suggesting they folded over and were laced across top of foot. Missing back half of sole, toe, and back half of side.

Christening Gown

Description: Christening gown of white cotton batiste. Yoke is vertical bands of drawn work and eyelet in pineapple(?) pattern. Bottom of yoke has ruffle of scalloped eyelet lace. Long sleeves have ruffled hem matching yoke. Ruched at back waist. Rounded neckline is bound and trimmed in lace. Skirt has 14 rows of drawn work with 3" scalloped eyelet trim in floral pattern at hem. Center back closure of two buttons on yoke with draw strings at neckline and back ruching.

Description: Lorgnette of faux tortoiseshell. Tiny oval lenses mounted in flat glasses frame which swivels into matching housing of same shape. Suspension loop at one end to which is clipped black ribbon via gold clip; blackened metal slide along ribbon to adjust loop size. No marks on lorgnette.
