Hat of gray felt with gray beads and silver sequins. The cylindrical crown flares from lower edge to upper, and has a low domed, set in top. The surface of the hat is covered in curving, meandering lines of gray beads, enhanced by double-bands of silver sequins which form "zig-zag" motifs on sides, and around dome of crown. Front and sides of hat overlaid with short length of light gray net veil. Hat is unlined, with gray grosgrain ribbon inner hatband. No labels in hat.

Hat of burnt ocher/light brown felt. The hat is styled somewhat like a beret, with low, slightly domed oval crown. The crown is embellished with scattered beading, in a pattern of golden, clear, and purple beads in strings of four or five, and with scattered larger oval cabochon golden yellow "gems". The edge of the crown folds under at front, and folds back out at sides to form slight brim. Around the front half of the hat is attached a veil of black which is formed from two different designs of netting, sewn together. The upper veiling is of wide hexagonal mesh, while the lower veiling is a smaller hexagonal mesh, sewn to the upper with a scrolling brown thread forming loops and curves. The hat is unlined, with a brown grosgrain inner hatband at inside base of crown. Designer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Hattie Carnegie". Retailer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Chez Jeré / Shreveport, LA.". Paper merchandise tag stitched to inner hatband: Obverse: "7112 / DNHH"; Reverse: "Tortuise / 55.00 [marked out] / 27.50"

Hat of dark green felt and multicolored yarns. Formed in the style of a small bonnet, the cylindrical crown is pointed back, and cut flat across top. The front of the crown is overlaid by a band of heavily embroidered/crocheted flowers and ground of various colors of yarn, and scattered shaped beads. This band is bordered by a thick purple yarn. At the front of the hat and extending along the sides are the brim, folded back to form a second wide band of heavily embroidered/crocheted flowers and ground. The hat is unlined, and from the inside can be seen the inner part of the embroidery/crochet. Maker's label sewn inside hat, at back of crown: "Lilly / Daché / Paris New York / 78 East 56th Street, N.Y."

At base of crown is band of cream grosgrain ribbon with bow at front. The brim is off-center, turned under, extending further at front and curving more broadly under at back. The hat is unlined, with an inner red grosgrain ribbon hatband. Hat of straw. Natural-color straw hat in the style of a modified boater. Shallow domed crown is encircled by a black velvet ribbon with rhinestone set buckle at front securing bow with large loops. Around the front 2/3 of the hat is black veiling/net. The short brim is slightly off-center, extending farther at front than back. The underside of the brim is partly lined in black velvet, while the crown has an inner brown grosgrain hatband. No designer's labels or retailer's labels. A single printed cloth label is sewn to the hatband: "22" Accompanied by two short hatpins with black velvet-covered heads.

Hat of braided navy straw. Similar to a pillbox hat, the cylindrical crown is slightly domed, and surmounted by a sphere at top center made of navy satin braid. The whole is overlaid with blue veiling/netting. Unlined, with inner dark blue grosgrain ribbon hatband. Designer's label at inner hatband: "Cedar Crest / Original" Accompanied by a single hatpin, the head covered with blue fabric matching the hat.

Hat of black and white neora synthetic straw. Styled as a modified breton hat, the high domed crown is of woven black synthetic straw with white woven synthetic straw accents. The wide, matching brim is set off-center to the crown, wider at front than back, and is rolled up, forming a deep trough around the crown. At the front of the hat, affixed to the visible upturned underside of the brim is a large black plastic button with a black silk tassel extending from the center. The hat is lined in black mesh, with a black grosgrain ribbon inner hatband around the inside base of the crown. Manufacturer's label sewn to inner hatband: "Beresford". United Hatters Cap and Millinery Workers International Union sewn to inner hatband, with number "798738". Accompanied by a single short hatpin with simulated black pearl head.

Hat of red straw. The hat has a high crown of finely woven red straw, with flattened top. The sides of the crown have diagonal ridges forming a "zig-zag" around the crown. At it's base, the crown curves in and under, forming a "waist" around which is tied a band of ribbed knit(?) fabric, with bow at back. The shallow brim curves downwards. From the band around crown extends a gray/black veil which extends from slightly over 1/2 of the circumference of the hat. The hat is lined in red fabric, and has an inner hatband of red grosgrain ribbon around the inside base of the crown. Maker's label sewn to inner hatband: "Otto Lucas / Bond Street London / Made in England". The hat is accompanied by one short hatpin with red felt covered head to match hat.

For one-half of the distance around the hat, the ribbon is dark navy blue, for the other half it is red. The two ends cross over in the front, with ends extending upwards on the front of the hat. The hatlet is formed on a base of black velvet ribbon which creates an open oval at top back of head, and has a cross-piece across head and with extending swallow-tail piece towards wearer's temple. The hatlet is almost entirely covered with artificial flowers of velvets, silk, and other fabrics. The flowers are primarily in pinks/purples/reds, with green stems and leaves. The hat is lined in black satin and edged with an inner hatband of black grosgrain ribbon. A small stitched mark on the ribbon indicates the front of the hat. Designer's Label: "Lilly / Daché / Paris New York". Label is very large, extending across the full width of the inside of the hatlet, the word "Paris" partly obscured by the grosgrain ribbon.

Over the surface of the hat are various beaded and sequined motifs and strings of beads. Across the back is a wide twisted green ribbon which crosses at back and has trailing ends. Lined in copper/reddish cloudy silk(?), and edged in green grosgrain ribbon. A small stitched mark on the ribbon indicates the front of the hat.
