Sales Tax Revenue in the City of Arlington, Texas: Historical Review and Projections

Several statistical approaches are used including autoregressive moving average (ARIMA) models, seasonal exponential smoothing, and ordinary least squares (OLS) regression analysis based on unemployment data.

The Economic and Fiscal Impacts of Armed Forces Exchange Service Realignment on Dallas County and the City of Dallas

Based on a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report estimating that merging the Navy, Marine Corps, and the Army and Air Force Exchange Services would save between $200 and 300 million annually, the Department of Defense (DOD) has created a task force to examine the feasibility of consolidating the exchange services. This report, by the University of North Texas Center for Economic Development and Research, examines the likely economic and fiscal impacts of the proposed merger under three different scenarios.

Description: This report summarizes the findings of the University of North Texas Center for Economic Development and Research's analysis of the economic and fiscal impacts of Dallas Area Rapid Transit operations and capital spending. The analysis specifically examines the impacts of spending associated with the development of the light rail system, projections of total capital spending for all transit modes over the next twenty years, and transit system operations for fiscal years 2007 and 2014. Section 1 examines the impacts of transit-related spending on the economy of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Section 2 examines the impacts on the state economy. Please note that state and local impacts are not additive.
