The men and women returning from the armed forces to civilian life will have many adjustments to make. To facilitate these adjustments, additional education in many instances will be required. 2. The federal government has made it possible for a much larger number of veterans to return to school than could resume their education otherwise. 3. Not only will the students be more numerous than before, they will be more heterogeneous, thus presenting more complex problems for the schools. The changes being made to accomodate the veterans are obviously changes which do not fundamentally alter the characteristics of higher education. They are changes in the mechanics of education designed to assist veterans in making proper adjustments to academic and civilian life as quickly and as easily as possible."-- leaves 2,96.

The Technique of Effect: a Study of Poe's Narrative Method
It is the purpose of this paper to try to show the various methods used by Poe for securing a single unified effect in each of his stories. To facilitate the work, I shall divide his short stories into four groups: stories of effect, stories or ratiocination, stories of pseudo-science, and stories of satire and humor. It is inevitable that the chapters overlap in many instances because some methods are used in more than one type of story. Often a story may be placed in more than one group, since the divisions are so broad. Notwithstanding these difficulties, it is possible to find many methods used by Poe to develop the narrative style, so peculiarly his own, by which he seldom failed to produce a compelling story.

The Texas Reformatory System with Emphasis on the Gatesville School for Boys

Many are the forgotten chore of state administrators, and others are the thorn in the side of the state's political administration. The latter is the case in the state of Texas.
Theme and Mutations
The purpose of this composition is to demonstrate the creative stimuli offered a composer by The Schillinger System of Musical Composition. To illustrate this creative stimuli offered a composer, the writer has composed an extremely diverse, yet homogenous musical continuity from the elements contained in an eight measure theme. The sections of this composition are titled mutations, for though they are all inherently related to the theme, this relationship often appears fortuitous. The term variation usually implies structural alterations that are readily apparent.
