Data Science Academic Program Review
This report summarizes an evaluation of the UNT Libraries' Data Science-related resources and materials to determine if the collection is adequately serving patron needs. It was generated as part of the UNT Libraries’ contributions to the university’s Academic Program Reviews, which are conducted by the Accreditation office in the Division of Planning. The UNT Libraries’ Collection Assessment Department evaluated collections’ ability to meet the curricular and research needs of the academic programs being reviewed. They assessed current needs based on course descriptions and research outputs, defined the scope of information needed based on this needs assessment, and evaluated the Libraries’ holdings in these subject areas against the usage, qualitative listings, and requests for materials from other libraries. Specific recommendations for collection development are provided based on the results of these analyses.

Deaf Smith County: Frontier Communities of the Llano Estacado Grant Materials
These grant materials were prepared for a project funded by Humanities Texas to digitize materials from the Deaf Smith County Library. The collection represented a wealth of primary source images that document the people, places and culture of Hereford and the surrounding county. A work plan details the digitization process and scanning standards, developing a lesson plan, and long-term benefits of the project. The project was funded for $5,000.

The Depository Library Community and Collaborative Participation in E-Government: AskUS (FDLP Librarians) and We Will Answer!
This book chapter examines the federal Executive Branch and Congressional vision of e-government and the role of the Government Printing Office's (GPO) Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) to demonstrate how the FDLP can effectively participate in existing e-government initiatives. The continuation of the Federal Depository Library Program's historic information dissemination, access, and preservation roles are now dependent upon multi-agency e-government collaboration. The collections and research expertise of Federal Depository libraries are the critical features missing in current e-government service models. The authors propose that the public service and resource discovery features now available at FDLP libraries be coordinated nationally via an AskUS-FDLP Library Portal.
