A Technique for the Mass Culture of Aquatic Actinomycetes

Description: The purpose of the problem was to develop a laboratory technique for mass culturing of the aquatic actinomycetes. In order to solve the problem, it was necessary to devise a suitable culture chamber that would nurture the various species in both primary and secondary stages. It was also important to provide an adequate medium for growth of these organisms. Finally, the construction of the culture chambers must provide for a continuous exhaust of the taste and odor compounds so that the producti… more

Techniques and Content in Thornton Wilder: a Critical Re-Evaluation

Description: The aim of this paper is not to disprove previous interpretations of Wilder's work, but to enlarge on them. The problem is not that the opinions of the early critics and many of the later ones were incorrect; the were merely incomplete. This paper shall attempt to show that Wilder's major thematic material falls into two interlocking and overlapping groups. Repeatedly Wilder deals with the relationship of man to something beyond himself, and the relationship of man to individual man and to mank… more

Television in Education: a Survey of Current Practices and a Consideration of Its Applicability to the Field of Music

Description: The use of television as an aid to music education is a relatively new and unexplored field. It is so new, in fact, that to undertake a study of what has been accomplished until the present may seem at first rather premature and unfruitful. It is my belief, however, that if television is to become the prominent factor in education that has been predicted, there is a definite need for a study of what has been done to date toward the development of this new medium. This will provide the backgroun… more

The Texas Question as a Factor in the Sectional Struggle

Description: "This thesis is an attempt to study the Texas question in its setting with particular emphasis on the sectional ramifications of the issue. It is not an attempt to document the diplomatic negotiations which led to annexation. It is not a attempt to prove that it was the Texas issue which irreconcilably divided the North and South, but it is an effort to assess the importance of the Texas question as a factor in the sectional struggle, by studying the origin, struggle, and climax of the effort t… more

The Theory of Administered Wages

Description: There is at the present time a need for a great deal more study regarding the way in which wage payments are determined. Are wages determined or fixed by natural law? Or are they administered through the conscious effort of man? It will be the purpose of this study to partially investigate the determination of wages both theoretical and actual. Perhaps some insight may be gained that will give rough answers to the above questions.

For this reason it was deemed imperative to study the toxic effects of these organisms.
