Sex Differences in Computer Usage by Preschool Children

Description: The purpose of this study was to determine whether sex differences could be observed in computer use among preschool disadvantaged children. Each of the twenty-two three- and four-year-old children were administered the Bardwell- Sietsema Sex Stereotype Scale to obtain a measure of sex role identification. Description: The problem of this investigation was an analysis of selected variables that affected woman's role-concept. The Effects of a Parent Program Focused Upon Enhancing Social-Emotional Development of Young Children Through Parent Instruction in Affective-Interpersonal Facilitation

Description: Twenty-seven parents with young children were randomly assigned to an experimental group which underwent an affective skill-building program, or one of two control groups. Hyperphenylalaninemia and Mental Retardation : The Effects of a High Maternal Phenylalanine Blood Concentration on Mouse Offspring

Investigation of Certain Accident Data to Determine if It Follows a Poisson Distribution and the Extent to Which It Does

Description: The purpose of this study was to investigate the medical records of 900 maintenance personnel employed in an aircraft manufacturing plant, and determine if the accident rate followed a Poisson distribution as well as the extent to which it did. Perseverance in Children

Description: The purpose of this study was to measure perseverance time as related to the individual's need for achievement, past success or failure, the difficulty of a task, and the experimenter's instructions regarding its difficulty. The subjects used in this study were twenty-eight children, fifteen males and thirteen females, who ranged in age from eight years, six months to nineteen years and nine months, with the mean chronological age being twelve years and ten months.

The Effects of Anxiety on the Short-term Memory Proficiency of College Students

Description: Based on the review of literature, it has been demonstrated that anxiety has some detrimental effects on the short-term memory functions of the college student. In order to improve the experimental methodology, the present study combined Type I and Type II studies of short-term memory as a function of anxiety. The two were combined so that the major criticisms in each study were controlled.
