This study investigates an application of hypnotic audiotapes to a specific group of college freshmen. Hypnotherapy is recognized as a viable adjunct to counseling, and it is known that hypnosis is possible via audiotapes. The study examines the use of hypnotic audiotapes designed to affect study habits and attitudes.
Differences in student and faculty attitudes toward physical activity
This study was an investigation of attitudes toward perceived values of physical activity among students and faculty within the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation at North Texas State University. The specific purposes of this study were to determine if a significant difference in attitudes toward each of six values of physical activity exist (1) among men at four educational levels, (2) among women at four educational levels, (3) among undergraduate men who chose to major or minor in either health, physical education or recreation. (4) among undergraduate women who chose to major or minor in either health, physical education, or recreation, (5) between part-time and full-time faculty men, (6) between part-time and full-time faculty women, (7) among graduate men who work in either elementary, secondary, college, or recreation programs, and (8) among graduate women who work in either elementary, secondary, college, or recreation programs. Finally, the study was to determine if significant differences in attitudes toward perceived values of physical activity among subjects within each of twenty-six selected groups within the professional preparation program.

The data for this study were obtained from library research, documents provided by the state directors of vocational education and state departments of education, 62 questionnaires returned from randomly selected businesses and office education educators, and 735 questionnaires returned from randomly selected employed vocational office education teacher-coordinators.

Electron density and collision frequency studies using a resonant microwave cavity as a probe
Electron densities and collision frequencies were obtained on a number of gases in a dc discharge at low pressures (0.70-2mm of Hg). These measurements were performed by microwave probing of a filament of the dc discharge placed coaxially in a resonant cavity operating in a TM010 mode. the equipment and techniques for making the microwave measurements employing the resonant cavity are described.

The Effects of Self-Recording and Projected Levels of Aspiration Upon Competitive Swimming Performance
The purposes of the study were to determine the effects of self-recording techniques upon competitive swimming times, to determine the relationship between stated level of aspiration and subsequent performance, and to determine the influence of success or failure upon stated levels of aspiration. Subjects were fifteen female high-school competitive swimmers. Five subjects utilized self-recording techniques and projected levels of aspiration; ten subjects did not. Data were analyzed by analysis of covariance and by regression analysis. Alpha was .05. Conclusions of this study were that self-recording techniques do not significantly affect competitive swimming times, that a strong relationship exists between stated level of aspiration and subsequent performance, and that successful and unsuccessful performances generate increases in stated levels of aspiration.

The purpose of this study were three-fold: First, this study examined occupation prestige ratings of African American adolescents using a modified version of the Hatt-North (1947) Occupation Prestige Scale. Planning strategies as predictors of DWI recidivism for problem and non-problem drinkers
This study investigates the relationships between planning strategies on how to avoid future DWI arrest and actual DWI recidivism for a group of problem and non-problem drinkers. A sample of 75 individuals who were arrested for DWI and completed a DWI training program in 1987 was gathered.
