Description: Almanac for 1847, bound in publisher's yellow printed wrappers, with hole at upper left through which a string is looped for suspension. The almanac contains information on eclipses, tides, phases of the moon, rising and setting of the moon/sun, historical facts, and quotations. Anonymous gift to the Miniature Books Collection in 2003.

Description: The 1st printing of The Mite was produced in 1891, and was at the time the smallest book in the world printed with movable type. This 2nd printing was produced in 1893, and a third printing was done in 1896. The text, a collection of facts and information, is supplemented with various illustrations. Includes table for each month of the year showing days/date, religious days, and phases of the moon; information on postal rates (foreign & domestic), and information on money order rates. Includes section at center with wax pages between which stamps could be stored so they would not stick to anything.
