The author argues that the painting of Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) from 1800 ('The Cannibals') and his paintings from 1823 to 1825 (The Black Paintings; 'Judith' and 'Saturn' and Miniature 'Judith') represent the changing ideals on decapitation of a monarch.
