Investigation of structural morphology and electrical properties of graphene-Cā‚†ā‚€ hybrids

Description: This article reports on the electrophoretic deposition of Cā‚†ā‚€ on graphene. The results suggest that graphene based Cā‚†ā‚€ structures are attractive as flexible transparent electrodes and are excellent electron accepting/charge transport materials for the construction of efficient photovoltaic devices.

Sol-gel synthesized indium tin oxide as a transparent conducting oxide with solution-processed black phosphorus for its integration into solar-cells

Description: This article describes the synthesis of indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films using solgel processing with a mixture of InClā‚ƒ, methanol, and SnClā‚‚, where the solutions were spin coated onto glass substrates. The combined architecture of black phosphorus on ITO thin films shows promise in its use for transparent electronics, which can also serve as a stepping stone for future solar cell platforms.

Fabrication of wide-IF 200ā€“300GHz superconductorā€“insulatorā€“superconductor mixers with suspended metal beam leads formed on silicon-on-insulator

Description: This article reports on a fabrication process that uses silicon-oninsulator (SOI) substrates and micromachining techniques to form wide-IF superconductorā€“insulatorā€“superconductor (SIS) mixer devices that have suspended metal beam leads for rf grounding. Aside from a description of the fabrication process, electrical measurements of these Nb/Alā€“AlNā‚“ /Nb trilayer devices will also be presented.

Epidemiological modelling of vaccination and reduced funeral rites interventions on the peproduction number, Rā‚€ of Ebola virus disease in West Africa

Description: This article examines the impacts of control measures on the reproduction number of the Ebola virus using a mathematically-based computational model. Using a microprocessor knee (C-Leg) with appropriate foot transitioned individuals with dysvascular transfemoral amputations to higher performance levels: a longitudinal randomized clinical trial

Description: Article evaluating whether advanced prostheses can provide better safety and performance capabilities to maintain and improve quality of life in individuals who are predominantly designated MFCL level K2. This study used a 13 month longitudinal clinical trial to determine the benefits of using a C-Leg and 1M10 foot in individuals at K2 level with transfemoral amputation due to vascular disease.

Using Wikipedia for Automatic Word Sense Disambiguation

Description: This paper describes a method for generating sense-tagged data using Wikipedia as a source of sense annotations. Through word sense disambiguation experiments, the authors show that the Wikipedia-based sense annotations are reliable and can be used to construct accurate sense classifiers.

Unsupervised Graph-based Word Sense Disambiguation Using Measures of Word Semantic Similarity

Description: This paper describes an unsupervised graph-based method for word sense disambiguation, and presents comparative evaluations using several measures of word semantic similarity and several algorithms for graph centrality. The results indicate that the right combination of similarity metrics and graph centrality algorithms can lead to a performance competing with the state-of-the-art in unsupervised word sense disambiguation, as measured on standard data sets.
