The CIMI Profile: Z39.50 Application Profile for Cultural Heritage Information
Date: March 1, 1998
Creator: Moen, William E.
Description: This document describes an application profile for the use of 'ANSI/NISO Z39.50-1995, Information Retrieval (Z39.50): Application Service Definition and Protocol Specification' [10] for search and retrieval of cultural heritage information. This profile is named the CIMI Profile, where CIMI refers to the Consortium for the Computer Interchange of Museum Information. Cultural heritage information includes resources covering art, architecture, cultural history, and natural history. The CIMI Profile includes specifications for using Z39.50 in this application, although specifications in the Profile, such as the CIMI-1 Attribute Set for searching museum information, may have utility outside of Z39.50 implementations.

Comparative Assessment of Peer Review: Project Outcomes Report
Date: January 2013
Creator: Frodeman, Robert; Holbrook, J. Britt; Moen, William E.; Burggren, Warren W. & Mitcham, Carl
Description: This report discusses the Comparative Assessment of Peer Review (CAPR) project outcomes. Public funding agencies are required to demonstrate accountability to their government funders (e.g., Congress) as well as to the public. Some agencies - including the US National Science Foundation (NSF) - have used broader societal impacts criteria as part of the review process of grant proposals in order to connect scientific research to societal needs. But these agencies have often encountered questions from scientists and engineers for how to integrate such demands for broader societal impacts into their research proposals. In an effort to help clarify the idea of broader impacts, in 2010 NSF and Congress proposed a list of national needs that NSF-funded research would be required to meet. But was this the best solution? This report discusses the authors' research.

The Adult Working-Age Population in the JPS Health Network in Tarrant County, Texas: A Report Submitted to the JPS Health Network Administration
Date: August 15, 2002
Creator: Eve, Susan; Koelln, Kenneth; Trevino, Fernando M.; Urrutia-Rojas, Ximena & Baumer, Joane
Description: This report summarizes the results of a survey of adult, working-aged patients in a large, urban, tax-supported county healthcare system, consisting of an inpatient hospital facility and eight community health centers. The major objectives of this research project were to assess the patients' access to healthcare, factors affecting their access, and their health status. The system was the John Peter Smith (JPS) Health Network in Tarrant County, Texas. In the introductory section, the authors will first briefly describe the healthcare delivery system for the uninsured and/or indigent population in Texas in general, and in Tarrant County specifically. Next the authors will outline the methodology used in a telephone survey of the adult patients in the JPS system. In sections that follow in the appended material, the authors will summarize the highlights of the descriptive analysis of the data from this phase of this project in a narrative, followed by presentation of complete descriptive tables and graphs.

Collection Plan Guidelines for Project Curators
Date: May 9, 2006
Creator: Murray, Kathleen R. & Hsieh, Inga K.
Description: This report is part of the Web-at-Risk project. These policy and planning documents typically guide collection management within libraries and archives. Some familiar concepts and practices from collection development for non-digital materials easily transfer to collection development for web-based materials while some new concepts and unfamiliar practices are introduced. To effectively manage web collections, it is good practice to either create new policies and plans or modify existing collection policies and plans.

Curators' Evaluation of WAS Release 2/3
Date: March 16, 2007
Creator: Murray, Kathleen R.
Description: This report discusses the curators' evaluation of WAS release 2/3, part of the Web-at-Risk project. The Web Archiving Service, WAS Release 2/3, was available to the project's curators from January 30, 2007 - February 13, 2007. During this time 19 curators trialed the service with varying frequencies, as measured by the number of capture jobs they submitted.
